The 69th annual Cannes Film Festival was held from 11 to 22 May 2016.
An annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from all around the world. It was founded in 1946 and ever since has been taking the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès.
It was my fourth time at this event. You might be wondering why is it so special?
Getting a film into the festival is already a mark of prestige, since only a few dozen films from around the world are picked for official screenings out of many submissions. The top films compete for the Palme D’Or, the festival’s grand prize. Many stars and Hollywood insiders are attending the festival to promote their films, most of which are making premieres at the event. Of course, the paradisiac view, french riviera glam, celebrities, gorgeous dresses and yacht parties make it one of a kind.
